The Bauhaus school existed in three German cities: Weimar (1919-1925), Dessau (1925-1932), and Berlin from 1932 to 1933 when the Nazis shut it down.

It had three different leaders: Walter Gropius from 1919 to 1928, Hannes Meyer from 1928 to 1930, and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe from 1930 until 1933.

The most active period for the Bauhaus movement was the seven years in Dessau (1925–1932) and most of the Bauhaus buildings are located in Dessau:

  • the Bauhaus Building
  • Employment Office
  • the Masters' Houses
  • the Kornhaus
  • House Fieger
  • the Steel House
  • the Dessau-Törten Housing Estate

When I visited in 2018 it was really bad weather but I managed to get some images. They were also shooting a film on the premises so there were a lot of people and signs etc. I’ve had to do a lot of cloning to get rid of most of them. Went for a retro look on the images, grainy and black-and-white.
